Engine heaters

Preheating the engine improves fuel efficiency. An engine heater minimizes the negative effects of cold starts by reducing friction and ensuring optimal combustion conditions from the moment the vehicle is started. This leads to lower fuel consumption and a measurable reduction in carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbon emissions. The benefits increase as ambient temperatures drop, making an engine heater especially effective in colder climates. In addition to environmental advantages, it contributes to reduced engine wear, improved reliability, and long-term cost savings

We provide engine preheaters for most vehicle types, makes, and models. Ours product range includes everything from contact heaters, installed directly on the engine surface or oil sump, to advanced hose heaters with an integrated circulation pump and overheating protection to achieve more optimal heat distribution.

All Calix heaters are model specific and comes with a detailed installation instruction. You find your heater in the search section, by selecting your vehicle, make and model.

Contact heater

Contact heaters are externally mounted units that transfer heat directly through the engine surface. They are simple to install, require no interference with the cooling system, and offer an effective solution for preheating engines in cold conditions.

Technical data.
Input, 230 V
Power, 250 W to 400 W
Some variants are also available in 120 V.

Immersion heater

The immersion heater is installed in an existing hole in the engine block, where it directly heats the coolant. Since the heat is distributed through the engine’s internal channels, it provides even and efficient warming. Immersion heaters are available in several versions and dimensions. The most common fittings are threaded, conical, expander, and bracket-mounted.

Technical data.
Input, 230 V
Power, 400 W to 1500 W
Some variants are also available in 120 V.

Thermostat hose heater

The Calix thermostat heater is a hose heater with a built-in thermostat. Available in two versions, Ø16 mm hose connection and Ø19 mm hose connection.

Technical advantages of a thermostat-controlled hose heater.
-Energy efficiency – the heater only activates when needed, reducing power consumption.
-Consistent operating temperature – maintains stable coolant temperature without overheating.
-Increased safety – thermostat protection minimizes risk of overheating.
-Convenience – can remain connected for long periods without manual switching.
-Environmental benefit – reduced energy use leads to lower emissions.

The thermostat heater is specially designed for emergency vehicles that are connected around the clock and always be ready to start. Also suitable for other vehicles and applications.

Technical data.
Input, 230 V
Power, 550 W
Thermostat close at 50° C and open at 80° C

Performance Heater (PH)

The Calix PH hose heater is ours hose heater series that can handle higher power when required. Suitable for construction machinery, tractors, trucks, gensets, marine engines, etc. The PH hose heater is equipped with Ø20 mm hose connections, a resettable overheating protection, and thermostats. The PH is based on the self-circulation principle, but can, if necessary, be supplemented with an external circulation pump.

Forced Circulation Heater (FCH)

Calix Forced Circulation Heater (FCH), with PTC elementthat adjusts the power gradually when the cooling water temperature increases. FCH is a hose heater with an integrated circulation pump that spreads the heat evenly in the engine, making it more efficient. Additionally, the FCH is easier to install compared to a heater with a separate circulation pump as FCH is more flexible in the positioning of the heater. Available in two versions, Ø16 mm hose connection and Ø19 mm hose connection.

Developed and produced in Sweden.
